According to luxury marketing firm Gold & Mae Productions, the private jet service industry is expecting significant growth in 2010.
Though often regarded as inefficient and expensive, private flights are gaining popularity due to long lines, extensive delays and increased security on commercial flights nationwide.
Cecil Gold, president of Gold & Mae Productions, says, "For many business professionals and high net worth individuals with busy schedules, commercial air travel has become too time-consuming due in large part to the increased security required to screen passengers."
Aside from from wasting time, commerical flights are costing fliers big money. "Flying on a private jet is far more efficient and, in many cases, more cost effective when you start to calculate time wasted waiting in lines and experiencing delays," says Gold.
Though the industry experienced a 40 percent decrease during the recession, numbers from November to December of 2009 show a 20 percent increase in private flights as compared to the same period last year. As the economy improves and aviation security increases a continued rise is expected.
